The Bank which was started in the year 1995 the main cum of the bank is to encourage women empowerment in the field of banking and enrich the women in the field of banking by financing to women who are engaged in different sectors and to make self dependent on themselves. As it is a district level bank which covers all taluks of shimoga district Sagara, Hoasanagara, Shikaripura, Soraba, Bhadravathi & Thirthahalli. It has a share holders from all taluks.

At Present the bank is engaged in all banking activities and proving various types of facilities to its customers. Now Bank is giving Associate membership to gents. Not more than 25% of its regular members and giving advances to gents also. The Bank is clearing house member and it own IFSC Code. Rather than this the bank is providing RTGS/NEFT facilities to its customers. All transactions are fully in CBS based and which were in saved in cloud server in Hyderbad.

HistoryA Brief Profile Of The Bank

The Sahyadri mahila urban co-operative Bank Ltd., shimoga was started in the year 1994-95. The inauguration function was presided by the Deputy chief Minister Sri.J.H Patel, inauguration function was done on 09/04/1995 in the presence of irrigation minister Smt. Leeladevi R Prasad. Smt. Jameela Khanum was the founder president of the bank.

About the ManagementMembers

There are 14 elected directors & 2 professional directors are their. Since the election of the bank was held on 24th January 2021. Smt.Veeramma P was present chairman/president of the bank. Since 2007 even after the recent election she was elected as president. Smt.Sunith G Rao is present Vise-president of the bank for the term of 5 years.

Smt.B.V.Rekha Chartered accountant from Bhadravathi is serving in the bank as a professional director & Smt.Prema .E Advocate shimoga is also working as a professional director. Other than they are 12 elected Directors.

Admission Procedure

Any Ladies/gents who are residing in and who are above 18years shimoga district within 10KM from shimoga city limit are eligible for taking membership. Membership will be allotted in the monthly board meeting after paying the fixed membership fee of Rs.2150/-.
